Hello there,

I remember only 2 types of Tatra Troleybusses. The T400 was produced and several of them were also for example in Prague, Bratislava...

The T401 was only a prototype and it is currently placed in the technical museum in Brno.

In the thirties Tatra produced 6 pieces of type Tatra 86 - a six-wheel trolleybus based on construction groups from Tatra 24 trucks produced at that time.

Praga at the same time produced a trolleybus Praga TOT, one of them can be found in Prague Public transport museum.

These two trolleybuses are very similar, I wonder, if Tatra and Praga collaborated on this project.

Hello again!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the info and the nice pictures!

I found the T 400 very stylish, it reminded me of Italian Alfa Romeo trolleybuses of that time. The T 401 looks someway "American Style". Very nice indeed.
I have no doubt that these buses were ahead of their time. A pity that Tatra did not build trolleybuses any more.

I was quite surprised about the Praga trolleybus (didn' t know they built any) and its similarity to the T 86.

 Do you know a book about these vehicles? (No matter if it would be Czech or Slovak - I am free to learn it - also because of my 613-3)

Best Wishes & HAPPY EASTER TO ALL,
Pan Tatra

Praga TOT was the most frequent trolleybus in CSR before second world war. Praga produced together 12 pieces! :)
