how too adjust ignition???

Post by hpsj » Sun, 07 Aug 2005 14:27

HI!
Need too no how too adjust the timing on my 603.
My car has CB(contact breakers).
Ive seen 15,13 and 10 degrees BTDC in different manuals & specs.
unfortunate those manuals are in Czech.
Do i need a stoboscopic light?
In that case,on what rpm will i adjust the timing?
Or shall i do it static (with the engine stopped) :?: ?
Can anyone tell me where i can find i workshopmanual in English(or copy).
Workshopmanual in German will help too.

Please help

German documentation for the T603 may be available directly from Tatra Muzeum. At least it is written in their list of available documents:
http://www.TatraMuseum.cz
technika@tatramuseum.cz

Ignition of the T603 is set up when the engine is stopped. There is a guidline on the engine belt pulley and a scale on the engine body. Align the guidline to 12.5 - 13 degrees BTDC (I'm not sure about the value). Then loosen a small female screw under the distributor and rotate it slowly until a spark flashes.

Have anybody a solution for this?

"let me apologize fo late reply. Right now we are transfering and rebuilding several static exhibitions.
Anyway we are able to make you copy of requested manual for T603. The only problem is with payment and shipment.
We are not able to ship it to foreign countries.

With best regards

I've just checked the availability of the "cash on delivery" service at Czech Post and it seems to be possible to ship a packet to Sweden this way. They say, that the maximum price of such delivery is 20000SEK.

However, I don't know if there are some limitations on the side of Tatramuseum itself :?
